The Idea
Behind The Name..
The name “Waypoints Counseling Services” was created with the concept in mind that, much like planning a hike, selecting waypoints can assist in reaching the ultimate goal.
These waypoints serve as checkpoints to assess progress, make adjustments if necessary, or incorporate additional steps toward reaching the destination. Similarly, in therapy, I establish goals with clients and regularly evaluate their progress, identifying what strategies are effective and addressing their evolving needs along the journey.
The "S" in the logo, with inward arrows, signifies your journey guided by your own unique waypoints, ultimately
leading you back to
your authentic self.
“Healing doesn’t mean the loss didn’t happen. It means it no longer controls us.”

FAQs
-
We will spend 20 minutes on the phone together where I will ask you what is bringing you to therapy, share about approach, answer any questions, decide together if we would like to schedule an intake and look at scheduling
-
A few questions you may ask yourself,
Did I feel heard, understood and respected? Did the therapist seem sensitive, intelligent, and mature? Did they seem to be someone with whom I can feel safe? Was the therapist open and willing to learn more and work toward understanding more about my specific areas of need? Were they open to referring me to someone else if they did not have the level of expertise needed to address my therapeutic needs?
-
I start with clients on a weekly basis as much as possible. I want to get to know you, see how you cope from week to week, and if we space visits out too much it takes much longer to see any therapeutic benefits.

This is highly personalized and is different for everyone! I frequently work with folks a longer term basis as healing from oppressive systems is an extended endeavor for us all. Together, we will collaborate to find a length of treatment that honors your needs.

Humans often come into the therapy with a multitude of experiences and complexities that extend beyond the presenting problem that initially brings them to therapy. I believe each person deserves a therapist who is passionate about what they’re experiencing, presenting with, and can offer skilled treatment modalities. I am happy to provide appropriate referrals for concerns outside of my specializations and scope.
I often work with folks on topics including but not limited to
*Burnout
*Grief
*Aging
*Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (skin picking and hair pulling)
*Identifying and setting boundaries
*Navigating difficult relationship dynamics
*Other traumas and stressors
*ADHD
*Chronic pain and illness
I am not specialized in-
*deep Trauma work that is more suitable for treatment outside of talk therapy such as EMDR or Accelerated Resolution Therapy
*Personality Disorders
*Active Suicidal Ideation
*Autism Spectrum
*Addiction
*Eating Disorders
*Children and Adolescents
